How to Get Started
1. Create your account — Sign up with your phone number. You must be 18 or older to use Skwaddy.
2. Add your children — Create profiles for your dependents. Only first names and surname initials are visible to connected parents.
3. Connect with parents — Use QR codes, deep links, or phone number search to find and connect with parents of your children's friends.
4. Organise activities — Create playdates and parties, invite connected families, and manage RSVPs all in one place.
FAQ
Who can use Skwaddy? Skwaddy is designed for parents and legal guardians aged 18 and older. Children do not have their own accounts — parents manage dependent profiles on their behalf.
How do I connect with another parent? You can connect by scanning their QR code in person, sharing a secure deep link, or searching by phone number. Once a connection request is accepted, you can pair your children as friends and start organising activities together.
What information is visible to other parents? Only your first name and surname initial are displayed. Your phone number, email, and other personal details are never shared with other users. Children's profiles show only their first name and surname initial.
How do I create a playdate? Tap the "Create Playdate" button, select the date and time, choose or add a venue, pick which of your children's friends to invite, and send the invitation. Invited parents will receive a notification and can RSVP directly in the app.
Can I add a playdate to my calendar? Yes! Skwaddy generates calendar files (.ics) that you can add directly to your phone's calendar app — Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook.
How do I remove a connection? Go to your connections list, select the connection you wish to remove, and tap "Remove Connection." This will also remove any child friendship pairings associated with that connection.
Is my data safe? Absolutely. Skwaddy uses database-level Row Level Security, cryptographic hashing for sensitive data, and follows a privacy-by-design architecture. We comply with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We never sell your data.
How do I delete my account? You can delete your account from the Settings page within the app. Tap Settings → Delete Account. This will permanently remove your profile, all dependent profiles, connections, and activity history. This action cannot be undone. You can also request account deletion by emailing us at support@skwaddy.com.
The app isn't working correctly. What should I do? Try closing and reopening the app, or clearing your browser cache if using the web version. Ensure you have a stable internet connection. If the issue persists, please contact our support team with a description of the problem.
How do I report inappropriate behaviour? If you encounter any concerning behaviour, please contact our support team immediately. We take the safety of families on our platform very seriously and will investigate all reports promptly.
